Concord Street/Painter Avenue Area Wastewater Project

March 15, 2019 Update – Painter Avenue Remains Closed – Excavation work continues at the intersection of Painter Avenue and Concord Street. Intermittent lane shifts will be implemented on Concord Street as needed next week in association with manhole replacement work. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times on Concord Street. Painter Avenue will remain closed to vehicle traffic through the end of March. Alternate routes around the closure zone will include Jersey Avenue, Lindsay Place, and Sullins Street.

Following completion of work on Painter Avenue, a closure of the Third Creek Greenway lasting approximately one week will be required between the west entrance/exit to Tyson Park and the trail split near Safety City. A detour will be set up via Painter Avenue while this section of greenway is closed. All traffic and greenway impacts will be communicated by KUB and the contractor via onsite signage, media advisories, and on social media platforms. Construction affecting Painter Avenue and the Third Creek Greenway will not be performed at the same time, and related closures will not occur during the same period. See map on right hand side of blog.
