South Knox Natural Gas Gate Station and Main Relocation Project

Project Announcement

May 8, 2017 - KUB will host a public meeting Thursday, May 11, starting at 6 p.m. at South Doyle High School in the Cyber Café/Young Campus (second floor), 2020 Tipton Station Road, to discuss an upcoming natural gas project in the Tipton Station Road/Chapman Highway area of South Knox County.

KUB’s plans in this area include construction of a new natural gas gate station at 304 Tipton Station Road and the relocation of a natural gas main ahead of a TDOT roadway project on Chapman Highway.

The public meeting will start with a brief presentation outlining the scope of the project and the construction process. Following the presentation, KUB representatives will be available to talk with customers one-on-one regarding their specific questions.

Surveying and design work is scheduled to begin later in May. Construction on the new gate station is scheduled to begin in November 2017, and gas main installation is expected to start in January 2018. The overall project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2018.

Additional information about the South Knox Natural Gas Station and Main Relocation Project is available at www.kub.org. Updates on this project will also be posted on a major construction projects blog site at http://kubmajorprojects.blogspot.com/, and on KUB’s Facebook and Twitter social media accounts. Customers can call 558-2331 at any time for information on this project. If the call is made after normal business hours, customers can leave a recorded message that will be responded to by the next business day.
