West Hills Area Natural Gas Project

October 6, 2017 West Hills Area Natural Gas Main Replacement Project Update – KUB Underground Construction (UGC) Crews bored in 320 feet of new plastic natural gas main this past week, bringing the overall amount of main installed to date to 2,675.

The boring crew is currently working at the intersection of Sheffield Drive and Corteland Drive.

The UGC tie-up crew moved onsite this past week and began connecting sections of new natural gas main on Bennington Drive, between Sheffield Drive and Corteland Drive (east).

Both the boring and tie-up crews will be onsite all next week, weather permitting.

Crews will begin work connecting customers’ service lines once all sections of the new main have been connected in this area.

As a reminder, this project is scheduled to be completed in four zones over the next 18-24 months. Please see the Project Information Sheet & Map in the column to the right for more details related to this project.

This work may require temporary lane closures in the immediate work zone. Motorists and residents are also reminded to watch for the presence of workers, equipment, and vehicles in the area.

KUB will post weekly updates on this blog for the duration of the project.
