Sequoyah Hills Wastewater Project

February 15, 2019 UPDATE – Noelton Drive Water Main Replacement Project – KUB Underground Construction crews continued work to connect customer service lines to the new main on Noelton Drive. Crews also performed paving and restoration work as weather conditions allowed. Weather conditions have also delayed the start of water main replacement work on Chippewa Circle and Dogwood Lane. Construction will start on those streets as conditions allow.

The above-mentioned streets will remain closed to through traffic for the duration of this project, which is scheduled for completion in February 2019. See map for installation areas. Flaggers, signs, and other necessary traffic control measures will be in place in association with these closures.

Wastewater Rehabilitation Phase 1 – Contractor crews continue closed-circuit TV inspections of wastewater system pipes and manhole repairs requiring intermittent lane closures between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Arrowhead Trail (between Lyons View Pike and Blows Ferry Road) through February 22, 2019. Mellen Avenue will serve as an alternate route. Pipe lining crews finished work on Towanda Trail and in an off-road easement east of Kingston Park Drive this past week. Work also continues in an off-road easement near the intersection of Blows Ferry Road and Alta Vista Way through February 22. See attached map.

Wastewater Rehabilitation Phase 2 – Pre-construction activities, including closed-circuit TV inspections of existing wastewater pipes and manholes, continue in the Phase 2 work area of Sequoyah Hills as weather allows. There may be temporary intermittent lane closures on area roads as vehicles and equipment associated with the inspection work are present. Full construction activity requiring longer lane and road closures will begin in weeks following. Customers can continue to monitor the progress of work in Phase 2, including information on active work zones and traffic impacts, via this blog. Additionally, customers throughout Sequoyah Hills will receive notice by mail prior to the start of construction activities. See the attached Sequoyah Hills construction phases map.

(Sequoyah Hills) Arrowhead Trail Road Closure [February 18-22] – KUB contract crews will close Arrowhead Trail between Lyons View Pike and Blows Ferry Road to through traffic from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., from February 18-22, as work is performed on the wastewater collection systems in the area. Access to driveways will be maintained, and the road will reopen to normal traffic flow when construction crews are not present. Appropriate signage and barricades will be on site to assist with traffic control. Follow-up advisories will be issued as necessary.
