January 18, 2019 UPDATE – Noelton Drive Water Main Replacement Project – Beginning
in mid-January, KUB will upgrade utility service on Noelton Drive, Chippewa
Circle, and Dogwood Lane with a project to replace sections of water main. See
map for installation areas. Asphalt saw-cutting and other pre-construction
activities requiring temporary lane closures on the above-mentioned streets has
been completed. Construction will begin on Tuesday, January 22, requiring road
closures in these areas through February 2019 (weather permitting). Access to
driveways will be maintained. Flaggers, signs, and other necessary traffic
control measures will be in place in association with these closures. Work will
not take place on January 21 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Wastewater
Rehabilitation Phase 1 – Closed-circuit TV
inspections of wastewater system pipes and manhole repair will require
intermittent lane closures between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Arrowhead Trail
(between Lyons View Pike and Blows Ferry Road) next week. Mellen Avenue will
serve as an alternate route. Hurst Excavating and its
subcontractors completed paving and restoration work in the following areas
this week: Towanda Trail, Kingston Park Drive, and in off-road easements near
Shawnee Lane and Hiawatha Drive. Work
will not take place on January 21 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
(Sequoyah Hills Area)
Arrowhead Trail Road Closure [January 22-25] – KUB contract crews will close Arrowhead Trail between Lyons View
Pike and Blows Ferry Road from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily, starting Tuesday, January
22, through Friday, January 25, as work is performed on the wastewater
collection system in the area. The road will be closed during work hours only
for paving and restoration. Signs will be on site to help with traffic control.
Follow-up advisories will be issued as necessary.
(Sequoyah Hills Area)
Noelton Drive Road Closure [January 22- February 21] – KUB crews will close a
short section of Noelton Drive between Kingston Pike and Alta Vista Drive to
traffic from 7:30 a.m. Monday through 5 p.m. Friday, beginning Tuesday, January
22, through Thursday, February 21, as work is performed on the water
distribution system in the area. Shawnee Drive will be an alternate route.
Local traffic access will be maintained, and the roadway will reopen on
weekends. Appropriate signage and flaggers will be on site to assist with
traffic control. Follow-up advisories will be issued as necessary.
