June 28, 2019 Update – NOTE: Crews will not work on Thursday, July 4. Excavation associated with wastewater rehabilitation work has been completed at
the intersection of Painter Avenue and Concord Street; however, the road
closure has been extended through June 28 for paving and
restoration in this area. KUB contract crews will maintain a continuous closure
of Painter Avenue at Concord Street, between Safety City Road and Sullins
Street, through late. There will also be intermittent lane shifts as needed by
work crews on Concord Street only during work hours. Alternate routes include
Jersey Avenue, Sullins Street, and Safety City Road. Local traffic access will
be maintained. Appropriate signage, flaggers, and barricades will be on site to
assist with traffic control. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times on
Concord Street. Painter Avenue will remain closed to vehicle traffic through
for the duration of construction in this area.
Third
Creek Greenway Trail Diversion – Wastewater rehabilitation work requiring trail
diversions continues on the section of the Third Creek Greenway just west of S.
Concord Street. The
Third Creek Greenway remains open. Trail users are reminded to be aware of the
presence of equipment, vehicles, and workers in the area while this work is completed. See map.
Third Creek Greenway remains open with slight detours near
wastewater construction zones.
