September 26, 2019 – KUB Underground Construction crews have
finished installation and testing of the new water main on Kingston Pike between
Homberg Drive and Westwood Road. Construction continues during overnight
hours, Sunday through Thursday, as crews complete service line connections,
fire hydrant installations, and tie-ins to existing water mains. Contractor
crews are also paving recent work areas nightly working to finish road patches.
TDOT requirements call for all traffic lanes to reopen by 6 a.m. each
morning. The center turn lane will remain closed on this section of
Kingston Pike for the duration of the project. Beginning the second week of
October, crews will shift the work zone to Old Kingston Pike, S. Forest
Boulevard, and Staub Street. Details on work in this area will be communicated
as the schedule is finalized.
