Concord Street Wastewater Project
February
14, 2020 – KUB’s
contractor, Morgan Construction, continues to rehabilitate wastewater pipe and
manholes on Concord Street near the railroad crossing. The contractor plans to
work this Saturday and Sunday, February 15-16, to make up for time lost to
weather this past week. Traffic flow may be reduced to one alternating lane
temporarily on Saturday, but flaggers will be on site to assist with
maintaining traffic flow. As a reminder, due to the location of wastewater
pipes and manholes under the roadway, lane shifts will be needed in the
immediate area where crews are working for the duration of this project. This
project is scheduled for completion by late March 2020.

Old Kingston Pike Wastewater Rehabilitation Project
January 21, 2020 -
Beginning the week of January 20, 2020, KUB and its contractor will begin mobilizing equipment and materials for a Century II wastewater collection system rehabilitation project in the Old Kingston Pike area. This project will upgrade approximately 3,300 linear feet of existing wastewater pipeline and 13 manholes in the area. Construction methods include open-cut trenching, pipe-bursting, and lining of existing pipe. Note that a temporary odor will be present in the immediate area in association with the lining process. Due to the location of some sections of pipe and manholes under roadways, temporary lane and/or road closures will be needed in the immediate area(s) where crews are working. Access to driveways will be maintained. Additionally, crews may need to access buried pipes and manholes in off-road easements. Lawn and street restoration will follow once construction is completed and as weather conditions allow. Follow-up notices will be issued as needed for the duration of this project. See attached map.
