October 12, 2018 UPDATE –
Contractor Southern Constructors completed installation and tested
the new natural gas main. Next week, crews will tie-over customer service lines
to the new main and repair asphalt cuts. Temporary shifting lane closures will
be needed at the W. Jackson Avenue and State Street intersection while this
work is completed on October 17-19. At least one lane of traffic will remain
open at all times Crew will also continue installation and testing on the new
water main next week. Access to the Jackson Avenue parking lot and area businesses
will be maintained at all times.
