October 19, 2018 UPDATE – Contractor Southern Constructors has completed installation of the
natural gas and water mains. Tie-ins to the existing natural gas main are
scheduled for completion next week. Crews will also condemn the old natural gas
main in this area next week. Water main testing was completed successfully, and
tie-ins are ongoing. The alley on the north side of the ramps, adjacent to
Jackson Terminal remains closed, but access is maintained to businesses.
Wastewater work requiring traffic closures on W. Jackson Avenue is expected to
begin in early November. Information on the scope and duration of traffic
closures will be communicated in advance, as details are finalized.
