Sequoyah Hills Wastewater Project

December 7, 2018 UPDATE – Hurst Excavating and its subcontractors completed wastewater system rehabilitation work on Dogwood Lane, Mellen Avenue, and Hiawatha Drive this past week. Intermittent lane and road closures will remain in these areas through next week for paving and restoration. Construction crews will move to Towanda Trail and off-road easement area near Shawnee Lane next week. The section of Towanda Trail south of Kingston Pike will be closed continuously to through traffic starting next Monday, December 10, and lasting through Friday, December 21, due to deep excavation required in this area. Access to driveways will be maintained. Paving and restoration work has been completed and the roadways reopened to normal traffic flow on the lower section of Noelton Drive and on Chippewa Circle.

(Sequoyah Hills) Sequoyah Hills Area Road Closures [December 10 – 14] – KUB contract crews will implement the below road closures as needed daily, Monday-Friday, from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., December 10 – 14, as work continues on the wastewater collection system in the area:
  • Hiawatha Drive between Noelton Drive and Towanda Trail
  • Dogwood Lane between Arrowhead Trail and Noelton Drive
  • Arrowhead Trail between Dogwood Lane and Blows Ferry Road
  • Mellen Avenue between Lyons view Pike and Arrowhead Trail
Additionally, Towanda Trail between Kingston Pike and Shawnee Lane will be closed continuously through Friday, December 14, due to extensive excavation. Access to area homes will be maintained, and flaggers and signs will be on site to assist with traffic control. Unless otherwise indicated, roadways will be re-opened outside of work hours. Follow-up advisories will be issued as necessary.
