Kingston Pike/Homberg Drive Water Main Project


KINGSTON PIKE WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT – October 4, 2019KUB Underground made the final customer service line connections to the new main this past week. All construction is now complete, all construction related traffic control measures have been removed, and normal traffic flow has resumed on the section of Kingston Pike between Westwood Road and Homberg Drive.

OLD KINGSTON PIKE WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT – October 4, 2019 – As a continuation of recent water main replacement projects on Homberg Drive and the section of Kingston Pike between Homberg Drive and Westwood Road, KUB Underground Construction crews will be moving to the Old Kingston Pike area next week. Saw-cutting and pre-construction prep activity is schedule to start on Old Kingston Pike, S. Forest Boulevard, and Staub Street on Monday, October 7, and last through the end of the week. Construction will start near the intersection of Kingston Pike and Old Kingston Pike the week of October 12. Temporary lane and/or road closures will be required in the immediate areas where crews are working, but crews will maintain access to driveways and businesses. Water main replacement is scheduled to last through early January 2020 in this area. To minimize future disruptions in this area, KUB will follow the water main project with wastewater collection system upgrades in this same area starting in early January. Final paving and restoration will take place at the conclusion of the wastewater project.
