Old Kingston Pike Water Main Project

OLD KINGSTON PIKE WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT 

October 25, 2019 – This past week, KUB Underground Construction completed the installation of the new water main from 4534 Old Kingston Pike to the western side of the intersection of Old Kingston Pike at Dryad Street. Crews will continue work near Dryad Street on Monday, October 28, progressing west to the intersection of Old Kingston Pike at Staub Street. New water main will then be installed on Staub Street between Old Kingston Pike and Midland Avenue. Once this portion of the project is completed, crews will shift to S. Forest Park Blvd. Lane and road closures will continue in the immediate work areas with detour routes providing full access to all commercial and residential properties in the area. Detours and alternate routes will be provided to maintain access to all business in the construction zone. Water main replacement is scheduled to last through early January 2020 in this area. To minimize future disruptions in this area, KUB will follow the water main project with wastewater collection system upgrades in this same area starting in early January. Final paving and restoration will take place at the conclusion of the wastewater project.
