Depot Avenue Water Main Project

July 18, 2018 UPDATE – In order to accommodate area events, Garney Construction crews will reopen a section of W. Depot Avenue at N. Central Street. Crews will move to W. Fifth Avenue as indicated by the below traffic advisory. Another project update will be provided later this week.  

(Downtown Knoxville) W. Fifth Avenue Lane Closure [July 19-20] – KUB contract crews will close the eastbound lane of W. Fifth Avenue between N. Gay Street and Williams Street from 7 a.m., Thursday, July 19, through 6 p.m., Friday, July 20, as work is performed on the water distribution system in the area. The westbound lane will remain open and be used to alternate traffic through the work zone. Access to local businesses will be maintained, and flaggers and barricades will be on site to assist with traffic control.
